A Year Of Content: My 2023 Wrapped
To be completely honest, I find it quite difficult to celebrate achievements. I’m the type of person that will finish a project and then think to herself “okay, that’s done. Now what’s next?”
And that is… not great. So in an effort to highlight all the awesome things I’ve done in 2023, I’m compiling all of them for your viewing pleasure!!
Puppy Interviews Galore
Honestly, the thing I am most proud of is being a part of the amazing production crew for the BuzzFeed Puppy Interviews! Being on set is something I’ve always wanted to do, and this year I accomplished not just once, but multiple times throughout the year. Working as the editorial lead for these shoots are always so much fun and the puppies always make me want to adopt them (even though I’m super allergic). I had the pleasure of working with big K-pop talent including ENHYPEN, ATEEZ, aespa, and WayV for the puppy interviews but also had the opportunity to work with other K-pop groups for different video formats like ITZY Plays Dare or Dare, XG Play’s Who’s Who, and more.
Original Editorial Interviews
Video may be super fun to create, but editorial will always have my heart. Although I struggle to call myself a true writer, I love being able to chat with talent, get to know more about them, and write out the interview for the fans! Although I mainly write about K-pop, one of my 2023 goals was to expand on that and highlight more Asian artists outside of the K-pop space. Thankfully, I was able to accomplish that and not only interview global girl group XG, who went viral throughout the year and performed at Head In The Clouds, but also interviewed J-Pop girl group SG5, who is the first group to officially collaborate with the Sailor Moon I.P.
I also interviewed popular girl group Le Sserafim on their latest album ‘Unforgiven,’ former Loona subunit Odd Eye Circle on their first comeback after changing agencies, rookie group Xodiac on their debut album ‘Throw A Dice',’ and more.
Shopping Content
If you know me in any capacity, you can probably tell that I definitely spend more money than I need to and I love finding new brands. This year, I continued highlighting Asian-owned businesses and even expanded to focus on other lesser known brands out there! My shopping round ups include beauty, food and drink, self care, and more — many with the added benefit of shopping for smaller, POC owned brands. I also got more personal and began publishing more content to show my personality, whether it be from testing out a DTC soup dumpling brand (which btw is amazing), to compiling a list of brands I absolutely love as as certified “drink girlie” — someone who is literally always sipping on something.
And that’s a wrap for 2023! Of course, my work as a social media strategist should not go unmentioned. I definitely grew a lot this year as a social media strategist, and although that work is a lot harder to show than these pieces of content I’ve highlighted, I must say that I am super proud of myself. Here’s to another great year!
